Símbolo da fraternidade entre os povos, o Marco da Paz foi uma visão do italiano Gaetano Brancatti Luigi. O sonho de erguer a obra, perseguido por 50 anos, agora chegará ao México e a Israel.
De São Paulo para o mundo. Este é o destino do Marco da Paz, monumento criado com o apoio da Associação Comercial de São Paulo (ACSP), que foi inaugurado no dia de Natal do ano 2000, no Pátio do Colégio. O símbolo, também presente na Lapa, leva a mensagem de paz e fraternidade entre os povos e é visitado todos os dias por dezenas de pessoas. Agora, atravessa nossas fronteiras e novos "marcos" já estão em construção no México, nas cidades Hidalgo, Oaxaca e Aguascalientes, e em Israel, na cidade de Nazareth. Gaetano Brancati Luigi, assessor especial da presidência da ACSP e idealizador do Marco da Paz, conta que o sonho de criar um monumento que representasse o ideal de paz e felicidade surgiu ainda criança, quando viveu na Itália os horrores da 2ª Guerra Mundial. "Cresci com a presença do medo e da fome. Vi meu pai indo para a guerra. Era triste e tinha medo de crescer porque isso significava seguir o mesmo caminho. Quem conhece não admite que o ser humano seja capaz de querer a guerra", diz."Não me esqueço de quando o toque dos sinos anunciaram o fim da guerra. O som ficou gravado na minha mente e nunca se apagou, porque ele simbolizou a vida e a esperança". Com o retorno do pai para casa, a família partiu para a América e reiniciar vida nova, inicialmente na Argentina.
Idéia – Luigi cresceu e com ele a idéia de criar algo que representasse a cultura de paz. Na década de 70, passou a morar em São Paulo, tornando-se mais um empreendedor da 'terra da garoa' e participante da ACSP. Apenas em 1999, conseguiu por em prática o antigo sonho. Ao passar pelo Pátio do Colégio, ele percebeu que o sino da igreja não tocava. Havia sido roubado. Num ímpeto de colaboração, mobilizou a ACSP para que um novo fosse doado. "Durante a instalação, na subida do sino, tive uma visão. Tirei um pedaço de papel do bolso do paletó e desenhei o que estava vendo. Assim, nasceu o Marco da Paz".Ele faz questão de dizer que a ACSP foi fundamental para a realização desse objetivo. "As cidades nacionais e internacionais interessadas poderão contar com o apoio técnico e a planta da obra. Localidades na Argentina, Uruguai, Portugal e Itália já demonstraram interesse", afirma Luigi.

Now, it crosses our borders and new " marks " are already in construction in Mexico, in the cities Hidalgo, Oaxaca and Aguascalientes, and in Israel, in the city of Nazareth. Gaetano Brancati Luigi, advisory special of the presidency of ACSP and idealizador of Paz's Marco, counts that the dream of creating a monument to represent the peace ideal and happiness still appeared child, when he/she lived in Italy the horrors of the 2nd World War. I " grew with the presence of the fear and of the hunger. I saw my father going to the war. It was sad and he/she was afraid of growing because that meant to follow the same road. Who knows doesn't admit that the human being is capable to want the war ", he says. I don't forget of when the touch of the bells announced the end of the war. The sound was recorded in my mind and he/she never faded, because he symbolized the life and the hope ". With the father's return home, the family left to America and to restart new life, initially in Argentina.
He/she/you idealizes–Luigi grew and with him it idealizes her/it of creating something to represent the peace culture. In the decade of 70, it started to live in São Paulo, becoming one more entrepreneur of the ' earth of the garoa' and participant of ACSP. Just in 1999, it got for in practice the old dream. When passing for the Patio of the School, he noticed that the bell of the church didn't play. It had been robbed. In an impulse of collaboration, it mobilized ACSP so that a new one was donated. " During the installation, in the ascent of the bell, I had a vision. I removed a piece of paper of the pocket of the jacket and I drew what was selling. Like this, Paz " .Ele's Marco was born he insists on saying that ACSP was fundamental for the accomplishment of that objective. " The national and international cities interested can count with the technical support and the plant of the work. Places in Argentina, Uruguay, Portugal and Italy already demonstrated interest ", he/she affirms Luigi.
